Full Time Jobs:

Director of Ticket Sales
The Seattle Storm is looking for an experienced and innovative sales executive with creative sales skills and a deep commitment to customer satisfaction to lead our Ticket Sales and Service Department. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of sales success and the ability to mentor and grow a young team as we draw new fans and continue to delight current fans with excellent service and customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage annual business plan to achieve desired results including revenue goals for various products, staffing and compensation, inventory management, pricing, product mix, investments, etc.
  • Lead all ticket sales and retention efforts to obtain overall revenue and attendance goals
  • Recruit, hire, develop, incent and manage full-time and part-time Account Executives
  • Develop and administer sales and service training programs
  • Actively support Account Executives in their efforts to achieve sales goals
  • Monitor productivity levels of Account Executives and assess their performance regularly
  • Implement new strategies and techniques based on research, data and success rates
  • Create innovative programs to drive new business and expand audience
  • Design and manage reporting protocols to monitor performance and to update leadership team
  • Develop, refine and manage ticket holder benefit and amenity programs that maximize the value proposition, solidify brand loyalty and drive retention
  • Effectively leverage organizational resources to complement retention strategies, including customer database, team web site, ticket holder surveys, etc.
  • Work closely with other departments to execute sales and retention programs and events
  • Monitor guest feedback and identify trends to aid in forecasting ticket holder behavior
  • Strengthen partnerships critical to managing ticket sales and retention (Ticketmaster, Seattle Center, Levy)
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in the field of sales and customer service or similar scope of work
  • Ticket sales management experience required; NBA/WNBA experience preferred
  • Proficiency with ticket management system and CRM programs
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, teamwork and relationship-building talents
  • Proven track record managing a budget and driving sales revenues
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to manage numerous simultaneous deadlines
  • Ability to be proactive and flexible in the face of change and last minute initiatives
  • Flexible schedule - evenings and weekends are required
  • Bachelor's degree required

Seasonal and Part Time Positions:

Ticket Sales Associate
Ticket Sales Associates generate revenue and assist with achieving overall ticket sales and attendance goals of the Seattle Storm by selling full season tickets, multiple-game packages, and group nights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business revenue selling new full season tickets, multiple-game packages, and groups.
  • Participate in phone call campaigns that require phone and cold calling skills.
  • Meet weekly productivity requirements for out-bound call volume and outside appointments.
  • Build and maintain relationships which result in trial, purchase and repeat business.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Participate in game night sales and service opportunities including hosting customers and prospects, making in-seat visits, and staffing the Fan Information Booth.
  • Attend team and community events for the purpose of making new connections and maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Participate in ongoing sales and service training and other professional development opportunities.
  • Influence and motivate peers to meet personal and team objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be able to start on March 1, 2012 and stay through September 21, 2012.
  • Must be present for comprehensive training March 1-2.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - especially over the phone and via e-mail
  • Strong computer skills - understanding of CRM or database management is preferred
  • Possess creative, strategic, and quantitative skills sets.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Show initiative and be a self-starter
  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly ticket sales goals

This is part-time, seasonal, position reporting to Senior Account Executive. (Start date: 3/1/12, End date: 9/21/12)

Accounting Assistant
The Seattle Storm is looking for a motivated, energetic, and organized individual to work in its accounting and human resource department. This is a part-time position averaging between 10-20 hours per week and will support both the Director and the Manager of Accounting and Human Resources.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Accounts receivable and billing
  • Accounts payable and cash disbursements
  • Game day administrative support
  • Cash handling, preparing deposits
  • Transactional coding and processing
  • File management
  • Merchandise, ticket, and game day operation support

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the field of accounting, Accounts Payable experience required
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Archtics (Ticketmaster), ADP, and Great Plains software preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Creative, innovative and self-motivated
  • Detail oriented and able to manage numerous simultaneous deadlines
  • Ability to be proactive and flexible in the fast pace environment
  • Flexibility- there are occasions where work will be required on evenings or weekends

Internships:

Are you looking for hands-on experience, mentoring and resume building in the field of professional sports? If so, the Seattle Storm Internship Program may be for you. Seattle Storm interns spend up to 6months focusing on one area of the organization, while still getting the chance to experience the total spectrum of running a team. Interns leave with experience and success designed to launch them on the career path of their choice. While Seattle Storm internships are unpaid, the experience gained is priceless. College credit is available.

Fan Relations

What you will do:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to ticket package holders and fans through knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient interactions
  • Serve as the face of the Seattle Storm at the Fan Information Booth (“The Huddle”) during Storm home games at KeyArena
  • Build relationships with Storm fans that result in guest satisfaction, repeat business, referrals, and outstanding product value
  • Develop new and creative ways to better the season ticket holder experience

What you will learn:

  • How to manage customer relations at a level that drives top line revenue and creates the happiest fans in professional sports
  • How to use Archtics, the industry's leading ticketing and contact management software
  • What happens behind the scenes at professional sporting events, and the role fan satisfaction, guest experience, and customer retention play in a team's success
