Silver Stars Announce 2012 Schedule

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Silver Stars will tip-off the 2012 season on Saturday, May 19 against the Tulsa Shock in Tulsa, Okla. at 7 p.m. The 2012 season will mark the teams 10th anniversary in San Antonio, as the Utah Starzz relocated to the Alamo City in 2003.
The 34 game schedule features 17 home contests at the AT&T Center, with the home opener against Chicago on Wednesday, May 30 at 7 p.m. The home schedule is highlighted by seven weekend contests and four Friday night games.
The Silver Stars host the 2011 WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, July 1 at 7 p.m. as part of a three-game home stand from June 28 to July 3. The team then embarks on a season-long four-game road trip from July 5 to July 11 in which it visits four Eastern Conference opponents.
San Antonio hosts Atlanta on July 13 at 7 p.m. before taking a 34-day break to accommodate the 2012 Olympic Games. The Silver Stars return from the break against Tulsa at the BOK Center on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
The team faces its busiest month in September with nine games, including a season-long matching three-game home stand from Sept. 14 to Sept. 18, with the Sept. 18 matchup slated for national broadcast on ESPN2. The Silver Stars conclude their regular-season schedule on Sunday, Sept. 23 against Minnesota at the AT&T Center at 2 p.m.
